“Yehey! Long Weekend!”
That’s exactly my reaction after hearing the announcement for September 25, 2015 holiday, we have 3 days off from work. 😀
Most of us will think or plan of what to do, I am person like that. But just this time, I let myself not to think or plan what I should do and I love the output bc I didn’t spend too much for this long weekend unlike my other long weekend last month. 🙂
So, here’s my Tipid Tips/Saving Tips for me and you. This works with me, but I cannot assure that this will work with you too. hehehe 😀
1. Don’t WITHDRAW money from your ATM/bank.
This will work even on a regular weekend, because if you know that you have cash in your wallet, you will be tempted to go out and buy something or go somewhere. But if your wallet is empty, that means you have to go first to a bank or ATM machine and thinking about it will make you feel lazy. 😀
2. Plan a DVD/Movie marathon.
Have some movie bonding at home with the family. You might have missed some of the old and new released movies in cinema, so why not, do it at the comfort of your home. Popcorn? You can just buy some snacks at a store near you or check your fridge for something to eat.
3. Explore the Social Media World.
Wifi available? Then check your notifs for your FB, Twitter, IG, snapchat, Tumblr, etc. You might have missed some important events in the life of your friends and followers. If you get bored with your own accounts, stalk someone 😀 srsly! Stalk someone you know or stalk random people, it’s ok as long as you don’t hack their account or post unnecessary things on their wall or TL.
4. Watch/Edit Videos
Watched videos online, there’s a lot of great clips in the internet, you can actually replay it again and again. (RIP replay button)
I recommend that you watch funny videos to relieve stress and makes you feel happy even if you are at home. Don’t watch video blog of travelers because it will make you feel like you wanted to go out, don’t also watched videos of how to cook simple foods because you will end up spending for the ingredients but if you do have some ingredients at home and you want to cook, first check your ingredients then search what you can cook with what you have.
Edit videos. If you have the resources like laptop/desktop, pictures, video clips, and music you are ready to make your own video. Try it, I’m sure you’ll enjoy it.
5. Staycation at Home.
Don’t have anywhere to go? Why not have a vacation in the comfort of your home. What do you do on a vacay? Diba relax mode lang? So, why not do it when you have this long weekend.
Relax. Get as much sleep as you want. When you wake up have your brunch, then watched TV, internet surfing, read books, drink coffee or tea, take a long bath, sleep again if you want, write something, surf the internet again, watch videos online. Do the same routine for the next 3 days, I am sure that you’ll have a relax mind and a stress free long weekend.
And that’s my top 5 Tipid tips for a long weekend. Just do it once a month, even on a regular weekend and for sure you’ll save a big bucks from your budget. 🙂
